About this tool

Compare word overlap and unique words between two texts.

Compares only the two texts you provide. This is not internet plagiarism detection or proof of originality.

Method and example

The tool compares the word overlap in the two texts you supply. It does not search the internet, identify an original author or determine whether a passage is plagiarized.

Two passages about the same topic can share vocabulary without copying. Conversely, a heavily reworded copy can have low word overlap.

Before you use the result

• Review matched wording and sources yourself. Do not treat a similarity percentage as an academic misconduct decision.
• Both texts must be supplied; there is no external document database connected to this tool.

Second text
