Method and example
Choose the question before entering numbers. “X% of Y” multiplies X ÷ 100 by Y. “X is what % of Y?” divides X by Y and multiplies by 100; the total must be nonzero.
15% of 200 is 30. To find what percentage 30 is of 200, enter 30 and 200 and select the second calculation: the answer is 15%.
Before you use the result
- Enter 15 for fifteen percent, not 0.15, in the percentage field.
- A percentage of a value is different from a percentage change between two values. Use Percentage change for an increase or decrease.
