Method and example
The compressor encodes an image as JPEG or WebP at the selected quality. It preserves dimensions within the tool’s processing limits; compression does not guarantee a particular number of kilobytes.
Try quality 75, download the result and compare its size and small details with the original. If it remains too large, resize the image first and compress that result.
Before you use the result
- Repeated lossy exports can accumulate artifacts; work from the original when trying a different setting.
- JPEG uses a white background for transparency. Use WebP when transparency matters, and verify the destination accepts it.
